Antonia Manhartsberger aka Auto Sophia (b.1991 in Lans/Tyrol, living in Napoli and Vienna) graduated in musicology at the University of Vienna in 2014 and in 2022 in computer music at the Institute for Electronic Music at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. Her artistic interests include the spatialisation of sound and its aesthetic and perceptual implications, audiovisual forms of design, the socio-political potential of new media and technologies, as well as collective art practice. Her work includes intermedia installations and performances, instrumental compositions, live electronics, audiovisual works as well as theatre, film and radio play scoring. She founded and curated the electronics-only impro session “pla-e-ground” im Cafe Wolf Grazand is part of the RadioIronieOrchestra of Radio Helsinki and a presidium board member of mur.at. She also performs as DJ Auto and is part of the post-spam band Frau Sammer.
In 2016 she received the Gifted Scholarship of the City of Graz, in 2019 the Hilde Zach Scholarship of the City of Innsbruck and in 2022 the State Scholarship for Composition, as well as awards for her works. Residencies have taken her to Barcelona, Brussels, Zurich and Graz.
