Anto Sophia Manhartsberger aka Auto Sophia (born 1991 in Lans/Tyrol, lives in Vienna) studied musicology at the University of Vienna in 2014 and completed her master’s degree in computer music at the Institute for Electronic Music at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz in 2022. Her artistic and academic interests include sound art in public space, the spatialization of sound, the socio-political potential of new media and technologies, audiovisual forms of design and collective art practice. Her work includes intermedia installations and performances, instrumental compositions, live electronics, audiovisual works as well as theatre, film and radio play scoring. She is a founding member of the Palais Rössland member of the board of mur.at. She also performs as DJ Auto and is part of the post-spam band Frau Sammer.

In 2016 she received the City of Graz Gifted scholarship, in 2019 the Hilde-Zach Scholarship from the City of Innsbruck, in 2022 the State Scholarship for Composition, in 2024 the BMKÖS Residency Scholarship and awards for her works. Residencies have taken her to Barcelona, Brussels, Zurich, Baden (swizerland), Rome, Naples, São Paulo and Graz.
